Inclusive language

Clear style matches the audience, purpose and level of formality while expressing the idea directly and respectfully.

Audience
Choose the right register Vocabulary and forms of address should fit a conversation, report, application or academic text.
Clarity
Make the actor and action visible Prefer concrete words and direct relationships over vague or overloaded phrases.
Respect
Use current neutral language Choose wording that includes people without unnecessary stereotypes or assumptions.
