Clear style matches the audience, purpose and level of formality while expressing the idea directly and respectfully.

- Choose the right register Vocabulary and forms of address should fit a conversation, report, application or academic text.
- Clarity
- Make the actor and action visible Prefer concrete words and direct relationships over vague or overloaded phrases.
- Respect
- Use current neutral language Choose wording that includes people without unnecessary stereotypes or assumptions.
