Possessive pronoun agreement

Grammar shows how words depend on one another. A correct form must express the intended person, number, gender, case, time or degree and agree with the rest of the sentence.

Find the head
Start with the controlling word The subject controls the verb; a noun can control its article, adjective or pronoun.
Read the context
Choose the intended meaning Time, quantity, identity and comparison determine which grammatical form is possible.
Check agreement
Match every dependent form Person, number, gender and case must remain consistent across the phrase or clause.
